What’s psychodynamic psychotherapy?

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a form of talk therapy that considers much of what we do is outside of our awareness. It maintains the idea that what has happened to us, whether within our families of origin or the wider socio-cultural context, directly impacts how we move about the world.

Due to its exploratory nature, psychodynamic psychotherapy has been shown to have longer-lasting effects than other behavioral and cognitive treatments.
